Beach Baby

We are off to the Pocono's tomorrow morning, so I'm going to make this posting super quick. Here are some pictures (a ton actually...we went a little overboard on the picture taking for this event...these are only half of the amount we took!) and a funny video of our first trip to the beach with Caleb. Have a great week everyone!

Yay I'm going to the beach!

Daddy and I have matching bathing suits!

Check out how strong we are!

Checking out the ocean.

Look at the wind in my hair!

This sand stuff feels interesting.

I know I'm cool.

So are you guys going to take me in the water or what?

Here's the first time Caleb touched the squishy sand and the water running over his feet.

He's not so sure he likes it.

Now he's definitely sure when the wave hits him in this video that he does NOT like it! But he will be a beach baby if I have anything to do with it, so we will keep trying! :)

Catching up...finally!

Sorry that we haven't posted in a while; it's been a busy but exciting couple of weeks. Jason finished his year teaching at Everett about a week ago, and we have really enjoyed having him around during the day. He is now studying for his Hebrew 1 final on this upcoming Monday, and then we leave for the Poconos to hang out with my family for about a week. We will definitely post pictures from that trip when we get back. In the meantime, here are some random pictures and videos from the last week. I'm also going to try to do a post before we leave on our first trip to the beach with Caleb last Saturday, which has some super cute pictures of him in the sand! Check back for that :)

Always trying to be like Daddy...here's Caleb sporting his hat.

Jason tempting him with ice cream...

Denied!

Hanging out in his new highchair that Grammy and Pops got him. This was his first time trying peas. They were a hit!

Grandpa came to visit on his business trip last week.

He was tying to help Caleb work on holding himself up while standing.

Mommy hanging out on the floor with Caleb while showing Grandpa how he scoots and creeps!

This is video of Caleb playing in the kitchen, but what is cool is you'll notice that now (after only like a week or so) he sits unsupported without falling over hardly at all. He has even figured out how to catch himself by putting his hand down if he feels himself falling. How neat!

Finally, here is a video I took yesterday of Caleb doing the "inchworm". He continues to propel himself forward by bringing his tush to his chest (scooting) and what is totally crazy is that just this morning he was in the beginning crawling position, and was actually starting to get the feel of using all 4 limbs at once (he started moving forward in the actual motion of crawling and we were so excited and totally cheering him on!) He is SO close to crawling, we just can't wait until he figures it out completely and becomes a little motorin' man!

A Wonderful Father

I'm not sure that I can even express how blessed I am to have Jason as a husband and a father to Caleb. He is just so wonderful with him, so intentional about spending time with him, and he just eats up every second he gets to spend with the both of us! So albeit a little late in posting time...Happy Father's Day Jason! We love you!

Matching t-shirts is one of the fun things we did for Jason for Father's Day. Jason's shirt said "Big Slugger" and Caleb's said "Lil' Slugger". They wore them to church and they looked SO adorable!

Also this weekend, our friend Eric from San Diego came to visit. Caleb had a lot of fun with him (as you can see) and Jason and I really enjoyed getting to catch up with Eric as well. P.S. Can't wait to meet you sometime Tatum (Eric's wife who couldn't make the trip out)!

We also visited Jason's Grandma over the weekend as well. Here are a couple of shots of Grandma Lee hanging with Caleb. The last time she saw Caleb was a few days after he was born, so it was really cute, she kept saying, "He's so heavy!" (Caleb is about 15 lbs now, he was about 8 lbs. at birth).

Beatin' the Heat

So it's been crazy hot here, as I'm sure it is for most of you looking at the blog as well. We have been keeping Caleb cool at home with air conditioning and wet washcloth massages. He loves them as you can see! Also, the milestones keep happening as Caleb sat unsupported for the first time on Monday night for more than a second before falling over. Jason was playing on the floor with him, and then he realized that Caleb was holding himself up on his own, so we busted out the video camera! To top that off, Caleb has also started to "scoot" in addition to "creeping". He has been pulling his little tush up to his abdomen/chest area to propel himself forward a foot or two each time he does it. Man is this kid going to crawl before we know it! Seriously what an awesome week of development this has been!

I'm cool!

Here is Caleb at yesterday's carrot feeding. He's doing pretty well with his vegetables!

This is Caleb last night...I called it...he has now realized that sleeping on his tummy is so comforting, and last night after laying him down, he flipped right over and slept the rest of the night in this very position.

Finally, here is the video of him practicing sitting by himself. We're so proud of our lil' man!

New things just keep happening

I just said to Jason last night that when Caleb turned 5 months old this past Wednesday the 4th, it seems like Caleb has turned a developmental corner. Although he has been going through milestones over the last couple of months, it seems like just in the last few days he is accomplishing more than he ever has, and mastering new skills with such determination. Caleb just rolled from back to tummy for the first time on Wednesday, and just last night (Saturday) he did a 360 degree roll going from tummy to back, then back to tummy right after. It was so cool that he completed the whole motion! Also, since turning 5 months he has been babbling with much more distinction. We can clearly hear the "dadadada and yayayas" etc. now more than ever. He has also started using his training cup, he is playing so well independently and with determination to reach toys, etc., and his personality with smiling and giggling is more apparent than ever too. And if that wasn't enough, today we are going to start him on vegetables for the first time since he has the cereal thing down. So I guess I can say I understand when people say, "Enjoy it...it goes so fast." Well, it feels like Caleb is growing up so fast right before our eyes, and we are just trying to enjoy every minute of it. Here are some pics and videos of the things going on these days!

Trying out his training cup for the first time.

Still not a fan of the taste of water!

Here is Caleb rolling from his back to his tummy. Now, we can't keep him on his back, he always wants to flip right over! So I wonder how long it will be before he sleeps on his stomach for good.

Finally, this video is of Caleb having fun when Jason was playing with him. He just thinks this game is SO funny!
