Hello's and Good-bye's

Recently we have gotten the chance to see some friends from PA that have come up to visit us in Salem. One couple in particular, Efrain and Megan, brought their baby girl Grace over for dinner. It was so cute seeing Caleb checking her out! Later that same week, we were at a good-bye party for the Hupe family (friends of ours that are leaving to be missionaries in Thailand), and Caleb got to hang out with his two favorite ladies from church, Ella and Mya. Finally, the last picture is of the Hupe's garage sale where another couple and their baby Kasaan were there. It's been so much fun for Caleb to meet these other kids and start exploring and socializing other "things" that look like him :)

Awwww...look at Caleb and Grace holding hands!

At the party, here is Mya checking Caleb out. She gave him his second ever kiss later that day (his first kiss was from Ella!)

That's Ella giving her arm a rest...how funny!

Caleb hanging out in Mya's recliner. We might just have to get him one of those, he loved it!

Everyone hanging out at the garage sale...that's Mya in Esther's arms, Caleb on Tim's back, Kasaan in the car seat, and Ella in the front. All cute kids!

We finally caught it!

Yay! We finally captured video of Caleb rolling over on the ground and on the bed. He is now about 4 1/2 months old, but he first rolled at the beginning of the month when he was 4 months old. I just think it is so cute watching him roll! Such a fun milestone!

Cute Photos!

It's been a while since we just posted random shots of Caleb, so I thought I would do so before posting some other fun things (we finally got Caleb rolling on video...so I will be working on getting that up soon!)

Caleb has been bearing weight on his legs for a while now, but it's fun when we put shoes on him to see him try to walk supported. He will be on the move before we know it I guess!

This was the tambourine from the "Band in a Box" that I bought Caleb last week when I went out for a Mommy afternoon. I think he is going to be a musical child just like his Daddy!

Eat baby!!!

The top jogging stroller picture was when we first put it together, and above is when Jason and Caleb just went out for a walk this afternoon.

Check out his Robeez (the cute shoes) from Grandpa and Nana!

I can just hear him saying, "Oh the things they do to me."

Caleb was actually having fun here...although his smile is a bit sinister right?

Surfin' away!

Solids and Cups and Rolling, Oh My!

So there is SO much going on with Caleb these days, it is hard to keep up with the little guy. :) He had officially rolled over on the bed a few times about a week and a half ago, but just this past Monday he did it for the first time on the floor (it was so cute...he was just kind of laying there after with the look of, "Yeah, I just rolled over, so what?"). It was totally sweet and I am trying desperately to catch it on video...hopefully you'll see that soon.

Also, I had an amazing Mother's Day. In addition to the sweet mini-movie and getting taken out for lunch, Jason and I decided to try solids with Caleb for the first time (the best Mother's Day present, let me tell you!). And he really did well with it. He actually swallowed most of it and didn't give the "yucky" face. Unfortunately, we can't get those videos to post for some reason, maybe they are too large. Anyway, we at least posted some still shots of those first moments. And finally, we let him try water out of a "big boy" glass for the first time too (that was the first time he tasted water as well...he wasn't as much of a fun as he was of the rice cereal as you will see; that video did post) and that was also a super cute Mother's Day moment!

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and son! What a great first Mother's Day it was!

All in all a messy good time!

Caleb trying out water from a glass.

Finally, here is the picture of him right after he rolled over on the ground.
I think he was pretty proud of himself. :)

Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!

Happy Mother's Day, Mommy! It's Caleb. I don't get to post my own blogs too often...usually it's you posting about me. But this time (and with Daddy's help!) I am posting about you to let you know that I love you SO much! You are such a hard-working Mommy, filling my day with so many exciting and fulfilling things. I know that sometimes I make your job as a Mom difficult. I also know that sometimes I make your job as Mommy really fun. But through the easy and the hard times, you still show me that you love me. (That's sort of how God shows that He loves us too, right? I hope that I'm learning about Him the way you want me to...!) Now, I get the fun chance to tell you through this little Happy Mother's Day post that I also love you! Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!

[Editorial Note: The video above is supposed to have an audio track with it, which is apparently not supported by Blogger. Please view the video with this in mind, and try to enjoy the still pictures regardless of this shortcoming. All involved apologize for any inconvenience.]

Round Two

So just the other day Caleb had his 4 month old well baby pediatrician appointment. He is now 13 lbs, 8oz., 24.5 inches long and is a totally healthy little guy! The pediatrician thinks that Caleb might be ready for it, so he gave us the green light to start trying solid food and use a training cup (even though Caleb can't sit unsupported yet). We're not in any hurry to push these things, but we did go out and get a training cup, baby spoons, etc., and we'll be sure to post some video when he starts using them. In other news, Caleb rolled over for the first time a few days before he turned 4 months old. I haven't gotten it on video yet, but I will keep trying. He also has figured out how to hold his legs and put his toes in his mouth...check out some of those pics below!
Round two of my immunizations...check out my band-aids!
Hmmmm...should I try to eat my toes?
Yes, yes I should.

This first video is when I was trying to catch Caleb roll over on tape (to no avail as of yet), but I still thought I would post it because he is so sweet in it. This video really shows what a joyful little boy he is and I just have to say, I completely treasure everyday I get to spend with him!

Finally, this video is of Caleb doing this funny thing where he buries his head and makes a growling noise (like he is pretending to be angry). But what is neat is that here he does it in response to Jason making the noise first. He has recently been learning to repeat what he sees, like when we laugh, he laughs, etc. What a smart little man he is! :) Enjoy!

Funny Sound

You all might think we are just silly, but we thought this video was pretty funny. I guess even the silliest of things are funny when it's your kid. Enjoy!

We're swinging now baby!

These pictures were actually taken a few days before we left for Minnesota (I'm just catching up with posts along with everything else!) It was a beautiful 70 degree day, and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a family walk, and try out the baby swing for the first time. Caleb was a little unsure about the whole outing, but I think he is going to be a park-goer in no time :)
